Basketball Game Preview: Millikan Rams vs. Compton Tarbabes

The Millikan Rams will challenge the Compton Tarbabes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Millikan is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 79 points last Monday, they were much more limited against Cabrillo on Friday. They took a blow against the Jaguars, falling 57-25. The match marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Millikan's defeat came about despite a quality game from Joseph Wicker, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Compton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 105-24 defeat at the hands of Long Beach Poly. While losing is never fun, the Tarbabes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1063rd, while the Jackrabbits are ranked 40th).

Compton's loss dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Millikan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-12.

Everything came up roses for Millikan against Compton in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 96-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Millikan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
