Basketball Recap: Atlanta International Takes a Loss

Atlanta International was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were outmatched by the Mount Paran Christian Eagles and fell 91-41. Atlanta International was probably out for revenge after losing 58-14 to them when the teams met back in December of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Atlanta International's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Zach Pemberton, who went 7 for 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points and five boards, and Oscar Garcia-Ide, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Pemberton has posted since back in November of 2024.

It was another big night for Christopher Park, who went 8 of 12 en route to 20 points and seven steals for Mount Paran Christian. Park's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Hewling, who went 7 for 8 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Atlanta International's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Mount Paran Christian, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-11.

Atlanta International wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-28 defeat against Mt. Bethel Christian Academy on the 28th. Mount Paran Christian has also already played their next game, a 76-61 loss against Walker on the 28th.
