Basketball Game Preview: Orangefield Bobcats vs. East Chambers Buccaneers

Orangefield hasn't had much luck against East Chambers recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Orangefield Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the East Chambers Buccaneers at 6:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Orangefield picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They managed a 61-55 win over Rudder.

Orangefield's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jaden Scales, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points, and Elijah Jones, who posted nine points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Sims, who had nine points and eight rebounds.

Orangefield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, East Chambers earned a 76-63 victory over O'Connell on Monday.

East Chambers is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points per game. As for Orangefield, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.

Orangefield strolled past East Chambers when the teams last played back in February by a score of 46-32. Will Orangefield repeat their success, or does East Chambers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
