Baseball Game Preview: Marion-Franklin Red Devils vs. Eastmoor Academy Warriors

For the second straight game, Marion-Franklin will face off against Eastmoor Academy. The Red Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marion-Franklin has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Marion-Franklin couldn't beat Eastmoor Academy on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Red Devils fell 13-8 to the Warriors. The Red Devils have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Maxin Warner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Marion-Franklin is 4-1 when Warner posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Jared, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Eastmoor Academy, bringing their record up to 16-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Marion-Franklin, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
