Soccer Recap: Normandy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Holy Name on Saturday, Normandy came back down to earth. The Invaders lost 3-0 to the Rocky River Pirates on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Normandy of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Normandy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8-5. As for Rocky River, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6-1 record this season.

Normandy will take on Shaker Heights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Shaker Heights will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more goals each matchup than the last. As for Rocky River, they will venture away from home to face off against Lakewood at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
