Softball Recap: Rehoboth Christian Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Rehoboth Christian got themselves on the board against Northwest on Thursday, but Northwest never followed suit. They blew past the Falcons 21-0. Considering the Lynx have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Taylen Esalio made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Esalio was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Deiyanera Franklin was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Vicente, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Rehoboth Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .652. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Rehoboth Christian has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Northwest, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Rehoboth Christian beat the Falcons by a score of 17-1 later that day.
