Valor Academy dropped their record down to 6-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell 6-1 to the Lakeview Charter Lions. Having soared to a lofty 26 runs in the game before, Valor Academy couldn't push the score so high this time.

Valor Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andy Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

As for Lakeview Charter, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.

On Lakeview Charter's side, Angel Vazquez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. Vazquez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Lions are 5-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Lakeview Charter let Eric Perez and Angel Sanchez run wild. Perez went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Sanchez went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave Sanchez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian De La Pena, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Coincidentally, Valor Academy and Lakeview Charter will both be playing Valley Oaks CES the next time they take the field. Lakeview Charter will host Valley Oaks CES at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Valor Academy will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
