Baseball Recap: River View Comes Up Short

River View extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-6. They fell 6-2 to the Crooksville Ceramics. The Black Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ceramics apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

As for Crooksville, they moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season so far.

For Crooksville's part, Jace Thompson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. Thompson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyson Riggs, who went 3-for-4 with two runs. Kale Dennis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
