Basketball Game Preview: Vanoss Wolves vs. Wewoka Tigers

The Vanoss Wolves and the Wewoka Tigers, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Vanoss is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Vanoss is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Earlsboro 73-15. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Wewoka duked it out with Okemah two weeks ago. The Tigers might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Panthers an easy 54-32 win. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Panthers are ranked 99th).

This is the second loss in a row for Wewoka and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Vanoss, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Vanoss got the 'W' when the teams last played back in November of 2024 against Wewoka by a conclusive 52-27 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
