After a string of six wins, Grand Island's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 9-2 to the Lockport Lions. The Vikings were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but the Lions' pitchers proved too tough.

Grand Island's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Lockport, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Grand Island is set to face off against their familiar foe North Tonawanda at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lockport will challenge rival Niagara Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.7, the Wolverines 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
