Softball Preview: Forge Christian Fury vs. Strasburg Indians        
        
		
             The Forge Christian Fury will head out on the road to  face off against  the Strasburg Indians  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Forge Christian has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the  contest with three straight  defeats, while Strasburg will come in with six straight  wins.
 Forge Christian lost  12-6 to The Academy on Thursday.
  Rio Beck was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-4 with two  runs, a  triple, and  an  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kaedence Miller, who  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Strasburg). Everything went their way against Sterling on Thursday as Strasburg made off with  an  18-6 victory. Considering the Indians have won 11 matches by more than six  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
  Anna Vetter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and three unearned) runs on eight hits. What's more,  she also racked up four  hits, the mostshe's  had since back in October of 2023.
 At the plate, Strasburg got a  massive  performance out of  Madi Olsen, who  went 2-for-2 with a  home run, three  runs, and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Addi Kent, who  scored three  runs while going 3-for-3.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Strasburg  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .733. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
 Forge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Strasburg, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with that  win, which was their third straight  at home.
 Saturday's   game will be a test for both team's pitchers. Forge Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of 0. However, it's not like Strasburg struggles in that department as   they've  averaged 0. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Forge Christian came up short against Strasburg in their previous meeting  back in October of 2018, falling  6-2. Can Forge Christian avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
