Football Recap: Paraclete Spirits vs. Village Christian Crusaders        
        
		
             On Friday, the Paraclete Spirits got the win against the Village Christian Crusaders  by a conclusive  42-20. The  matchup marked the Spirits' most dominant  win of the season so far.
 A big part of Paraclete's  victory came down to the chemistry between  Joseph Mesa and his top target  Savaughn Gentle. Mesa threw for 423 yards and six touchdowns while completing 87.8% of his passes while  Gentle picked up 193 receiving yards and four touchdowns. With that strong performance,  Mesa is now averaging an impressive 3.2  passing touchdowns per game.  Eric Green was another key player, picking up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Paraclete's defense and their four sacks. Village Christian's QB  won't forget  Jeffrey Patino anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
 When it comes to explaining why Village Christian lost, don't look at  Everson Mathis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes.
 The  win made it two in a row for Paraclete and  bumps their season record up to 3-2. As for Village Christian,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-3.
 Paraclete will have plenty of time to enjoy the  victory as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on October 4th. As for Village Christian, they will square off against Northview at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Northview will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  win, something Village Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
