Recap: Desert Pines Jaguars vs. Coronado Cougars

The Desert Pines Jaguars suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 95-65 defeat at the hands of Coronado. While losing is never fun, Desert Pines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Coronado is ranked fourth).

Coronado's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tee Bartlett, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Bartlett is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Cunningham, who scored 22 points.

Desert Pines' defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Coronado, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Pines will take on Arbor View at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Arbor View is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Coronado won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Centennial at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th.
