Basketball Recap: Tipton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Logansport

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tipton). They enjoyed a cozy 67-52 win over the Logansport Berries on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

It was another big night for Grady Carpenter, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.3 boards per game. Another player making a difference was Sam Quigley, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points.

Tipton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Several Berries players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli Baldwin, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds. Baldwin continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Clem, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Tipton's record now sits at 4-2. As for Logansport, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tipton will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Clinton Prairie at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Clinton Prairie will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Tipton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Logansport, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Maconaquah at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Maconaquah has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 215 points over their last three contests.
