Softball Recap: Caledonia-Mumford Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Caledonia-Mumford, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Finney Falcons 10-4 on Wednesday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Grace Beach was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colleen Talty, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shea Drazkowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Caledonia-Mumford now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Finney, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Caledonia-Mumford will face off against Avon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Braves will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Finney, they will challenge Northstar Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
