Volleyball Recap: Cheyenne Mountain Has No Trouble Against Elizabeth

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cheyenne Mountain walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Elizabeth Cardinals on Saturday.

While Cheyenne Mountain won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-21, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was Jera Rodriguez, who had 16 assists and five digs. She has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Cheyenne Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Elizabeth, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 14-10.

Coincidentally, Cheyenne Mountain and Elizabeth will both be playing Glenwood Springs the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will head out to face the Demons at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Red-Tailed Hawks will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
