After a string of five wins, Islands's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Effingham County Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13.

Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Effingham County, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-16.

Coincidentally, Islands and Effingham County will both be playing St. Vincent's the next time they take the court. The Rebels will head out to face the Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Sharks will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
