Basketball Recap: Sun Valley Takes a Loss

Sun Valley extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They took a blow against the Parkwood Wolf Pack, falling 61-29. Spartans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Wolf Pack since Friday.

Despite the loss, Sun Valley still got an impressive performance from Kayleigh White, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Maliya Gooding also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

As for Parkwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Brooke Fowler was her usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 41% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Izabella Delli Colli, who posted ten points and six steals.

Coming up, Sun Valley will venture away from home to take on Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Parkwood, they will welcome Ballantyne Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolf Pack's defense better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 58 points per game this season.
