Basketball Recap: Avon Takes a Loss

Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Westport Wildcats, falling 44-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 58-22 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from Uwa Idada, who posted two points in addition to nine rebounds and three blocks. Idada is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games she's played.

Avon's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Westport, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Avon has already played their next matchup (against Wareham), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Westport has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Wilmington.
