Football Recap: Sharyland Takes a Loss

Sharyland lost against Los Fresnos back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rattlers were dealt a 63-20 loss at the hands of the Falcons. The Rattlers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-14.

Sharyland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abram Carrasco, who gained 74 total yards and a touchdown, and Sebastian Martinez, who picked up 89 receiving yards and one TD.

Robert Pineda continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Los Fresnos, throwing for 220 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 41 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most passing yards Pineda has posted since back in September of 2024. Enrique Guerra was another key player, picking up 129 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Sharyland's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Los Fresnos, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Sharyland will head out to square off against Mission Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rattlers' defense better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 34.3 points per game this season. As for Los Fresnos, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on San Benito at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
