Volleyball Recap: Fort Calhoun's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Fort Calhoun entered their tilt with Nebraska City on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Nebraska City. Fort Calhoun not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since August 28th (when they won 3-0).

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17, 25-10.

Fort Calhoun's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Claire Pearson, who had eight digs and two aces. Emilee Thayer-Mencke was another key player, hitting 80% for eight kills and eight digs and eight aces.

They weren't the only good server: Fort Calhoun was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matches.

Fort Calhoun's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Nebraska City, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Fort Calhoun will venture away from home to challenge Schuyler at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nebraska City, they will welcome Ralston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
