Softball Recap: Hillsboro's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Saturday just wasn't the day for Hillsboro's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Maypearl Panthers on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Hillsboro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Green, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

With the defeat, Hillsboro broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Maypearl, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4-2.

Coming up, Hillsboro is taking a road trip to challenge Alvarado at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Alvarado's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Maypearl, they will welcome Itasca at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
