The Anaheim Colonists will square off against the Orange Panthers at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Anaheim comes in on five and Orange on three.
If Anaheim beats Orange with eight runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Colonists came out on top in a nail-biter against Saddleback on Friday, sneaking past 8-6.
Gabriel Lopez got the start for Anaheim and what a start it was: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits.
On the hitting side, Anaheim saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Erick Hernandez, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another was Jayden Sanchez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Anaheim hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Orange got the win against Bolsa Grande on Friday by a conclusive 16-2. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.
Myles Kennedy was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Jacob Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Orange's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Anaheim, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
