Basketball Recap: Corbett Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Corbett won the last time they faced Rainier and things went their way on Monday too. The Corbett Cardinals came out on top against the Rainier Columbians by a score of 53-42. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Columbians are ranked 143rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Corbett is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.1 points over those games. As for Rainier, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
