Volleyball Game Preview: O'Gorman Knights vs. Washington Warriors

The O'Gorman Knights will face off against the Washington Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. O'Gorman will be strutting in after a victory while Washington will be coming in after a loss.

O'Gorman is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Sioux Falls Christian, who was ranked sixth at the time (O'Gorman was ranked eighth). The Knights blew past the Chargers 3-0 on Saturday.

O'Gorman never let Sioux Falls Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-22.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Washington's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lincoln by a score of 3-2.

Washington took Lincoln into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23, 24-26, 24-26, 15-11.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for O'Gorman, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

O'Gorman took their win against Washington when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
