Baseball Game Preview: Lighthouse Christian Lions vs. Glenns Ferry Pilots

The Lighthouse Christian Lions will challenge the Glenns Ferry Pilots at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lighthouse Christian has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lighthouse Christian lost 18-4 to North Star on Saturday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lighthouse Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karsten Sweesy, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Brennan Ford, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Meanwhile, Glenns Ferry made easy work of Gem State Adventist Academy on Monday and carried off a 16-4 win. The Pilots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Glenns Ferry got a massive performance out of Carson Traudt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two hits gave Traudt a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alan Mesillas, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Glenns Ferry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Lighthouse Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Glenns Ferry, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lighthouse Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Glenns Ferry struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Lighthouse Christian beat Glenns Ferry 16-12 in their previous matchup on Wednesday. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Pilots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
