Basketball Recap: Liberty Christian Comes Up Short

Liberty Christian extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-3. They were outmatched by the Colleyville Heritage Panthers and fell 61-30. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 69-58 to the Panthers when the teams met back in December of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Liberty Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jason Drake, who posted 11 points and six boards.

As for Colleyville Heritage, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 59.7 points this season.

Colleyville Heritage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dmauri Evans, who shot 78% from the field en route to 18 points and six rebounds. The game was Evans' third in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Sameer Johnson, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 14 points.

Liberty Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-40 victory against Keller Central on the 21st. As for Colleyville Heritage, they have also already played their next contest, a 52-47 loss against Mansfield Legacy on the 21st.
