Baseball Game Preview: Evansville Blue Devils vs. Parkview Vikings

The Evansville Blue Devils will face off against the Parkview Vikings at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Evansville and Monroe had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Cheesemakers by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their meetings with the Cheesemakers: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Parkview hadn't done well against Deerfield recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Vikings came out on top against the Demons by a score of 7-3.

Louis Nath made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Nath was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Mathias Treinen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Treinen is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Evansville now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Parkview, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
