Softball Recap: Cleveland Comes Up Short

Cleveland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 13-3 to the Birmingham Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cavaliers of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Cleveland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Nutt, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Nutt launched this season.

Cleveland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Birmingham, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Coincidentally, Cleveland and Birmingham will both be playing Chatsworth the next time they take the field. The Cavaliers will head out to face the Chancellors at 3:00 p.m. on the 21st, while the Patriots will host them at 3:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
