Basketball Recap: San Tan Foothills Comes Up Short

After soaring to 59 points the game before, San Tan Foothills was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Payson Longhorns and fell 56-16. The Sabercats have struggled against the Longhorns recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Payson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hannah Sarnowski, who posted six points along with nine assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace DeSchaaf, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

San Tan Foothills' defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Payson, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Tan Foothills will venture away from home to square off against Northwest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Payson, they will head out on the road to challenge Snowflake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Payson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.
