Basketball Recap: Lawrence Long Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Indiana Math & Science Academy North

Horizon Christian won the last time they faced Indiana Math & Science Academy North and things went their way on Friday too. Horizon Christian came out on top against the Indiana Math & Science Academy North Knights by a score of 56-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Horizon Christian.

Horizon Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lawrence Long out in front who posted 13 points and six boards. Long has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyan Miles, who had 13 points and three steals.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Spencer Turner, who put up eight points in addition to ten assists and three steals. Xzavion Collins was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Horizon Christian pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Indiana Math & Science Academy North, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Horizon Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 77-74 win against Fishers Christian Academy on the 21st. As for Indiana Math & Science Academy North, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on MTI School of Knowledge at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
