Basketball Recap: Jake Matthews' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pollok Central over Center

Pollok Central lost against Center back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The match between the Pollok Central Bulldogs and the Center Roughriders didn't end well, with the Pollok Central Bulldogs falling 56-42.

Pollok Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Matthews, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points. Matthews is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Graham, who posted eight points and six assists.

Center had a senior duo take command as Tim Johnson put up 14 points and Caleb Mosley had 14 points. The dominant performance gave Mosley a new career-high in points. BraCadon Robinson was another key player, putting up eight points.

Pollok Central has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for Center, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Pollok Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-42 defeat against Hitchcock on the 12th. As for Center, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-35 win against Lorena on the 12th.
