Liberty Union got their first taste of in-conference action on Monday and they started things off strong. They won by a run and slipped past the Hamilton Township Rangers 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tanner Farmer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Liberty Union's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Owen Thomas, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Justin Sisson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Liberty Union moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Hamilton Township, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
