Baseball Game Preview: Dobson Mustangs vs. Gilbert Tigers

The Dobson Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Gilbert Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dobson comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Dobson's offense. They came up short against Marcos de Niza on Wednesday, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Gilbert took on Desert Ridge on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 7-6.

Brady Carlin made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Carter Watson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Dobson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Dobson couldn't quite finish off Gilbert in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 9-7. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
