Basketball Recap: Aletheia Christian Academy Falls Short of Lighthouse Baptist Academy in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Aletheia Christian Academy can now relate to. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 46-45 to the Lighthouse Baptist Academy Ambassadors. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Ambassadors earlier this season, when they won 48-43.

Aletheia Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Beau Burke, who posted ten points and eight boards. The dominant performance also gave Burke a new career-high in assists (four). Daniel Bailey was another key player, going 7-for-12 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Aletheia Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Aletheia Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Lighthouse Baptist Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.

As of now, neither Aletheia Christian Academy nor Lighthouse Baptist Academy have any future games scheduled.
