Eastern Mennonite has gone 10-0 against New Covenant recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eastern Mennonite Flames will host the New Covenant Gryphons at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eastern Mennonite is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 80-66 win over Shenandoah Valley Academy on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Flames as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, New Covenant had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 50-39 win over Tandem Friends on Tuesday. Given the Gryphons 's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Badgers are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Covenant's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-6. As for Eastern Mennonite, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-12.

Eastern Mennonite skirted past New Covenant 63-60 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Eastern Mennonite have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Covenant turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
