Softball Recap: Lodi Sets Scoring Season-High Against Big Valley Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lodi). They were the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over the Big Valley Christian Lions on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Flames needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.

The result came thanks to Ashlyn Jubrey's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Allison Frank and Abby Schweigerdt did most of the damage at the plate: Frank scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Schweigerdt scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ellie Schallberger, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lodi always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Big Valley Christian only posted an OBP of .176.

Lodi now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Big Valley Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Lodi will take on Beyer at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Big Valley Christian, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions face off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
