The Shepherd Pirates will face off against the Magnolia Bulldogs at 10:15 a.m. on Friday. Shepherd is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Shepherd saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montgomery. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shepherd saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayci Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Magnolia didn't have quite enough to beat Tomball Memorial on Monday and fell 5-4. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Magnolia's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Shepherd, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.
