Soccer Game Preview: Smoky Mountain vs. West Henderson

The Smoky Mountain Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the West Henderson Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Smoky Mountain is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

While Smoky Mountain didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Pisgah on Wednesday.

Smoky Mountain hit Pisgah with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ali Klaire Nicholson, Angela Gonzalez, and Ariana Alvarez-Bruno.

Meanwhile, everything went West Henderson's way against North Henderson last Wednesday as West Henderson made off with a 4-1 win. Considering the Falcons have won three contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for West Henderson and bumps their season record up to 4-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those two games. As for Smoky Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Smoky Mountain suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to West Henderson in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Smoky Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
