Baseball Recap: Central Gets the Win

Central never let their opponents score on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Lee Williams Volunteers.

Central got a great performance from Ricardo Miranda as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Miranda a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Angel Carrillo and Freddy Terrazas did most of the damage at the plate: Carrillo got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Terrazas went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Carrillo has posted since back in April of 2025. Sebastian Ojeda was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .519 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 2-0-1. As for Lee Williams, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

Coming up, Central is taking a road trip to face off against River Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lee Williams, they will be taking part in a tournament against Southwest EC at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
