Football Game Preview: West Panthers vs. Northridge Knights + Official Tickets

The West Panthers will face off against the Northridge Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with West sitting on seven straight victories and Northridge on three.

Two weeks ago, everything came up roses for West against Cyprus as the team secured a 69-6 win. Considering the Panthers have won nine matchups by more than 26 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Louie Hamilton produced another solid effort rushing for 186 yards and five TDs on only 14 carries, while also picking up 67 receiving yards and one touchdown. Another passer making a difference was Kamden Lopati, who threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 421 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

West's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 14 times. The heavy lifting was done by Manu Tua'One and Takeshi Savery, who racked up six sacks between them. With that strong performance, Savery is now averaging an impressive 5.1 total tackles per game.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northridge had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past the Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 21-7. That 14 point margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Northridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kyle Rawlings and Makai So'o. Another thorn in Pleasant Grove's side was Jack Hall, who picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles.

The victory got Northridge back to even at 5-5. As for West, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
