Basketball Recap: Armijo Takes a Loss

Armijo lost against West Campus back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Armijo Royals took a blow against the West Campus Warriors, falling 92-52.

West Campus was led to victory by Zach Villanueva and Edmund Michalski. Villanueva dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 assists, while Michalski went 8 for 15 on his way to 31 points and six boards. Villanueva's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kiefer Wilbur, who went 6 of 11 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.

Armijo's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for West Campus, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Armijo and West Campus could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Armijo will challenge Foothill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday down 744 places (1202 vs. 458). Similarly, West Campus (ranked 639th) will meet Burbank (ranked 269th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
