Baseball Game Preview: Westland Cougars vs. Central Crossing Comets

Westland is 2-8 against Central Crossing since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Cougars will head out to challenge the Comets at 11:00 a.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Westland fell victim to Worthington Kilbourne and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wolves, falling 20-0.

Meanwhile, Central Crossing also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 13-0 to Pickerington North on Friday. The Comets have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Westland's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Central Crossing, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7-1.

Westland was able to grind out a solid victory over Central Crossing in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
