Baseball Recap: East's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

East barely beat Badger the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. East was the clear victor by a 14-7 margin over Badger on Monday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for East's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Isaiah Williams was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Williams was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Yadiel Lopez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. East is 3-1 when Lopez posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Christopher Carrasaquillo was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Badger only posted a batting average of .222.

With the win, East broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5. As for Badger, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

East has already played their next game, an 8-3 defeat against Newton Falls on the 16th. As for Badger, they will be playing at home against Harding at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
