Volleyball Recap: Ceres Triumphs + How To Watch

Ceres barely beat Modesto the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers on Wednesday. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ceres never let Modesto on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-23, 25-21.

Modesto's loss came despite strong showings from Amilia Sessler and Emolette Pineda. Sessler had 11 digs and three aces, while Pineda had eight digs and three assists. Sessler has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played. Praise Ingram also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Ceres' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Modesto, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Ceres will welcome Livingston at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Modesto, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Central Valley on the 4th.
