Volleyball Recap: Cypress Bay Takes Down Wellington in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cypress Bay had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Wellington Wolverines by a score of 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Lightning in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won three in a row.

Cypress Bay had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-11, 25-21, 25-13.

Cypress Bay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julia Diaz, who had 20 digs. Diaz has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Erin Huang, who had 11 digs and eight aces.

Cypress Bay was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They are a perfect 10-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Cypress Bay's record now sits at 16-7. As for Wellington, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 12-9.

Cypress Bay wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Coral Gables on the 25th. Wellington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
