Basketball Recap: Grand Saline Takes a Loss

Grand Saline lost against Quitman back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Grand Saline Indians were outmatched by the Quitman Bulldogs and fell 46-19. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 913th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 290th).

Quitman was led to victory by Addison Sapp and Autumn Cason. Sapp went 6 for 9 on her way to 15 points and four steals, while Cason went 5 of 8 to rack up 15 points. Kaylin Sapp was another key player, putting up five points.

Grand Saline has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 16-17 record this season. As for Quitman, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season.

Grand Saline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Quitman, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 37-16 win against Troup on the 10th.
