Softball Recap: Carbon Hill Takes a Loss

Carbon Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 5-0 to the Sumiton Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 two weeks ago.

Carbon Hill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Goolsby, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Those hits were Goolsby's first of the season.

Carbon Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Sumiton Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Carbon Hill will face off against Oak Mountain at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sumiton Christian, they will be playing at home against Cordova at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
