Softball Recap: La Grande Victorious

La Grande won the last time they faced Weston-McEwen/Griswold and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Tiger Scots.

Carlee Strand was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Seavert, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Joselynn Dodds, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

La Grande's record is now 22-1. As for Weston-McEwen/Griswold, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-3.

La Grande does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Weston-McEwen/Griswold, they will square off against Vale at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday.
