Softball Game Preview: Liberal Redskins vs. Great Bend Panthers

For the second straight game, Liberal will face off against Great Bend. The Redskins will take on the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Things were looking good for Liberal after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 11-2 to Great Bend. The Redskins haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

For Great Bend's part, Alyssa McCauley made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. McCauley was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Camdyn Post was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Denver Ringo, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Great Bend kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Liberal's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Great Bend, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
